Google uses Social Network sites for search engine results. So from now on Googles search results are increasingly based on how often something is shared by friends through social media. Search results from friends are in fact often more relevant than general hits. Web pages written by friends and shared on a social media networking website such as Twitter, Facebook, Myspace or Google Plus, are now increasingly getting better results in the Google search engine.

So for example if your friends share a links on Twitter or Facebook, then these sites are getting higher in the search resultsthen if you are looking for something on Google. Among the results it also shows how often something is shared and by whom.
