Importance of Alt Tag in SEO

Hear I want to share little information on importance of alt attributes on images and their effect on search engine optimization. Alt tags attribute means, when you are placing a mouse over an image then text will appear, it is not a tool tip.

Alt tag were shaped initially for text based browsers, like lynx, which can not display images. The alt (or alternate) text was to describe what it is an image of, and should still be used only for that.

Alt tag are put into code like this:

<img src="http://www. online-seo-information.blogspot.com/images/logo.gif" alt="Some Text Here">

Google give more importance to Alt tag to improve the SERP. So really it's a good idea to use Alt tag to describe the image, and keep your text in the body of the page in areas that are readable to your users.
