PlayStation Network opens up

A system update for the PSP brings added PSN functionality – even if you’re not a registered user.

psp_store.pngThe v5.50 firmware update lets users browse the PlayStation Network to check out the latest games, trailers and demos available for download without having to register an official account.

The update also allows users access to the PlayStation Network’s Information Board via the PSP’s Xross Media Bar (XMB) interface. Granted the PSP is connected to a wi-fi internet connection, the Information Board will act as a live news feed detailing the latest in PlayStation Store deals.
