Social Media Broadcasting

Building your Tribe & Establishing your expertise.

Accurately describing a social network on paper is at best difficult. Many different sites, reports and tools work together with the online consumer ecosystem to create a flow of information from your business out into the social universe. Once the message is consistently present, listeners find it and "tune in."

The best example I can use is that of a radio station broadcast. Online content and social media tools create the information "broadcast." Those looking for information on your brand, product, or area of expertise find you in the social stream through search engines, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. If you demonstrate expertise through useful content, and are consistently present, your tribe "tunes in" to your social media channels.

If you are a business, stepping into this new medium can be confusing. Here are the five key steps required to successfully design and execute a social media marketing strategy.

• Publishing: Everything starts with content. Written and hosted on primarily on your website, blog, or YouTube channel, the content is the key element of your company websites. New content attracts search engines, website visitors, and those who want to know more about your brand, or area of expertise.
• Broadcasting: Broadcasting tools allow you to take content and spread it across the social media universe. The right broadcasting tools also allow you to link to content created by others, and add their content to your broadcast. Using our metaphor, a radio station doesn't products all their own programming. By hosting other experts, their own reputation grows, and so does yours. After we've created content, our next step is to gain followers.
• Listening: You must listen to your customers and to your own broadcast. How far does your reach extend? Are you getting feedback? Are others connecting with you? You can listen through specific web-based tools feedback tools, evaluate the effectiveness of your campaign, and adjust your strategy whenever necessary. You status as an expert is earned, and the information you've provide is the currency.
• Marketing: After you generate a listening audience, the friends and followers are converted into buyers, which happens the old-fashioned way. Prospects become customers when you give them a reason to purchase now, and make sure that the value they receive is greater than the money coming out of their wallet. After you establishing yourself as an expert, the next step is offering incentives and perks to purchase now.
• Connecting: Pushing information outbound is the first step in social marketing. This process creates what I referred to as Inbound Marketing. Now your prospects are contacting you. Facebook, Twitter, your blog, email, etc are the telephone of the 21st century business, and businesses don't stay in business long if they don't answer their telephones.

I recently post about copyrighted post especially on how to complain copyrighted blogs. I posted that someone copied my blog and no credits from me. And to stop that kind of blog, I reported to Google and was happy that the post they copied was deleted.

Since then, I want to get some way that if someone copied my post it will automatically credit to my post and good thing I found it. Now, let me share to you the codes on how to add copyright notice to copied blog posts.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Facebook Timeline for Pages

Facebook Timeline was first implement to profile page that was launched September 2011. Facebook Timeline  for profile page was announced by the Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg.


After several couple of months, Facebook Timeline was again implemented to Facebook Group but just the top of the group page which is the cover photo. I don't know if some of the Facebook group doing so. But one of the Facebook Group that I belong changed the cover photo. As a default, some of the members are featured on the top.

Facebook Timeline will be implemented to all Facebook Pages effective March 30, 2011. Facebook awared all Facebook page owners of this update. All Facebook Pages will be automatically convert to the new Facebook Timeline for Pages

Actually, if you will create new Facebook Page now it will automatically implement to the new Facebook Page. So better, to make your own cover photo now for your Facebook Page.

Facebook Timeline for pages has an advantages and disadvantages for all Facebook Page owners. Some saying that Facebook timeline for pages kill the marketing strategies but maybe we could apply "there's a will there's a way". Now let me share the advantage and disadvantage of Facebook Timeline for pages.


Disadvantage of Facebook Timeline for Page
1. No more custom landing page - you can't create a customized landing page for your page for fans and non-fan
2. Facebook Cover Limitation - not allowed to post contact information and call to action in the picture.
3. Facebook Timeline look fill up - Its look is confusing which may turn off some people to view your page.




Advantage of Facebook Timeline for Page
1. Pining feature - pin important post and it will stay on the top left side of the Facebook Page for seven days.
2. Starring feature - star important post and its box will widen. However, unlike in the Pinning feature, starred posts just stay in place.
3. Messaging feature - fans can now send private message. It would make communicating more faster.
4. Milestone feature - share important events or goals in the business to make closer to your fans
5. Activity are feature - can monitor activities is easier since it's fix in one area.


The most important here is to give your fans a good content that they might interested. They like the page because they want to get an updates. Don't let the fans unlike your page anymore.

A simple way to SEO your Facebook fan page

Facebook is one of the leading social network site in this generation. We can use the this tool to gain traffic to your website.

A simple tips, if you have a website or blog i suggest to make a facebook page to gain more traffic. Now, let me discuss to you a simple way to SEO your facebook fan page.


1. Choose a good Facebook Page name - Facebook Page name will serve as your SEO title. I suggest to include a keyword to your facebook page name. E.G your website is all about designs and your website title is Best Design Collections in Photoshop. As soon as possible, you can also use your Blog Title as your facebook name to make branding. You can choose a long facebook name as long as the standard length is just 70 characters.



2. Write a good description to your page - ABOUT description of your fan page will serve as your meta description. Add as soon as possible a high density keyword. One of the many ways to SEO your facebook page.

 3. Facebook Page URL - this is one of best way to SEO your fan page. You should think the good fan page url since you can't change it anymore as long as you set the fan page url. Remmeber, you can set only a facebook url when you reach the 25 likes. Again, choose the url that fit to your branding. As soon as possible, you could include keyword. Sample, http://www.facebook.com/bestdesigncollection, http://www.facebook.com/top10onthelist. As you can see, keyword was included on the facebook page url.


4. Add photos, events description - when you add photos on fan page better to include description. Again, put a keyword that relate to the pictures. 


5. Post a direct links your facebook page stream - to SEO your fan page, put a direct link to your website. 


There are two ways to post a links to your facebook page stream. 
1. RAW URL - how to SEO your fan page by this? Include directly your url with a short description which include your keywords. 

 2. ATTACH LINK - When putting the attach link it will automatically generate a keyword. Then, add a short description. Look at the image below to show sample. 

As you can see, when you attach the link it will automaticall generate the title and they just add a description of the attach link. "Pagedata is a great site for Facebook Page stats and info."


6. Facebook Fan Page updates - when you do a facebook fan page updates better to include the keyword on your updates. Again, you should include the keyword between the 18 characters. A one way to SEO your facebook page.

Facebook are keep updating. From the video call, to comment preview, tagging and now the latest was the Facebook Timeline. Facebook Timeline was announced first at the company's f8 conference last September 29, 2011.


When they first announced, people are eager on how to enable Facebook Timeline. Good thing about blogs, they are updated. People look on it and find it on a blog on that past settings of Facebook Timeline.


I remember when I set my Facebook Timeline, I followed almost 10 steps on how to enable Facebook Timeline. Either way they are now finally up and willing to let the entire world have their shinny new Facebook Timeline.

How to make Facebook Landing Page?

Most of the bloggers have a Facebook Page for their blog or even personal page. Some have a landing page for their Facebook Page.


At first, I thought I would pay to have a landing page for my facebook page but I was wrong because I made my landing page. To view my landing page: Click Here.


Now, let me teach on how to make a landing page for your blog. It's not easy but if you just follow the instructions carefully. You can get the best result better than me if you know some Photoshop.

First, you need to make your own Picture or poster for your landing page. You can use some editors online like Pickup, if you don't know Adobe Photoshop. Personally, I'm having time to make my simple and weird poster since I just have a little knowledge in Photoshop.


After, you make the picture for your landing page. Upload it to your File Manager(for those have domain) or any image hosting online except imageshock. I suggest you upload it to photobucket. Then copy the direct link of the image and save it to the notepad first. Then,you are now ready to do the next step.


Steps on how to make Facebook Landing Page:
1. Go to your Facebook Fan Page
2. Click Edit Page

3. Click the Apps

4. If you see Static FBML, proceed to step 7. If not, search "STATIC FBML" 

5. Click Add to my Page > Choose the page you want to add landing page. Then go to your page,

6. Repeat Step 2 and Step 3

7. you must see this, Click Go to Application

8. Then put this code

Other options, if you want to have a link to your website. Go to http://www.image-maps.com/. Upload the image you made then Start Mapping Your Image. 

Using the rectangle tool, select the area where you want to insert the link and add the URL where you want it to point. Repeat this action with as many links you want on your image.

Once you are done adding your links to the image, click on “Get Code”, you will get a few options. On the top navigation, select the CSS Code and copy it. We’re taking this puppy out of here for one last step before we head to Facebook.

Then, change the Box Title to "WELCOME". Then Save.

9. Back to your page, repeat step 2.

10. On the Default Landing Tab, Change it to "WELCOME" and Save Changes.

If you share your links to them, they are interested with your shared links since your blog is all about fitness too.

2. Facebook Page - Most of the bloggers make a fan page. Why? Because your followers will have an updates to your post. The more fans you have the more chances you gain traffic. Tried to share your fan page to your friends, groups to gain more fans.

3. NetworkedBlogs - As I observed, most of the bloggers but not all put their NetworkedBlogs apps to their blog. Since, you can follow their blogs and they can follow your blog too. Since you can syndicate your blog to their apps so that every post you made it will automatically published to your page or even a group.

4. Share to your Wall - If you have no groups or page. Share to your wall and your friends will visit it for sure. Try to socialize by adding friends.

Google Plus mention a circle

I posted several months ago on how to tag or mention a friend to your comments or status in Facebook. I blog about it to aware the update of Facebook.

Now, Google Plus exist and might be the reason to lose the popularity of Facebook. You can also mention or tag a circles (google plus) or friend (facebook) in your status or comments.

In Facebook, you need to add or type @(at) sign then type the name of your friend. When you type @ it will automatically show the list of your friends you can mention with.


In Google Plus, you need to add @(at) or +(plus) sign then type the first letter of the circle name to be mention. As I try it, all users of the Google plus or page in Google can be mentioned, even if you're not friends.

I will just update if I'm wrong about this mention features in Google Plus. Happy mentioning to your circles. :p

Facebook launched comment features

Facebook try to update the sites every now and then since Google announced their Google Plus which be competent site of Facebook.

After they launched the Facebook Video Call Chat after Google announced the Google Plus. Now, Facebook newly announced today about their new updates on the site.

Today, Facebook launced a commenting feature that allows to embed videos, photos, or web sites in comments just by including the URL . Your comment will include a video player, a thumbnail of a photo, or a brief overview of the web site being linked to. If you prefer your comment without preview, you can remove the preview with one click.

To give you a brief idea what would be the result in embedding photos, videos, or website to your comment. It's the same as you share a photos, videos, website as your status update.

For videos, if you put the url of the youtube videos in your comment. You will see the thumbnail of the video with the title.

For website, the thumbnail of the website along with the short description of the website.

After 4 minutes after they posted it on their Facebook fan page, the feedback was 4000+ likes.

New Feature: Facebook Video Call Chat

Will Facebook threaten with the newly announced social networking by Google which is called Google Plus? I don't think they are because they also release the new feature of Facebook which is Video Call Chat.

We all loved to chat how much more if you see your chat mate. It's really cool feature from Facebook. They released it after Google announced about their new social networking site which can be a competition site with Facebook. Facebook launched Video Calling - a feature it's been cooking for quite sometime now with Skype. The cleverly named application puts video and calling together, allowing FB users to chat with each other using their webcams.

Before you can enjoy this feature you must activate. Follow the steps wisely.

Activate Facebook Video Call Chat

Note: you must install the webcam and microphone properly

1. You need to log-in to your FB account

2. Go to Facebook Video Calling

3. Click on the green Get Started button

4. Facebook will then send you a file (Video Call Set-up) to install on your computer.

5. Save and Run the file

6. Let it do its thing and finish the installation

7. It's now activate to your account. Congratulations!

Use Facebook Video Call Chat

1. After activating Video Calling on your account, look for an online FB friend who's also activated the feature.

2. Call them by clicking on their name on the Chat bar then clicking the small Video Call button.

4. As soon as your friend answer your call, the video call screen will appear and start to load in preparation for chatting.
