5 Ways Using Technology Can Better Your Business Communication

This post is written by Jonathan Trent who writes for NextUC.com

Technology has changed the face of business communications for the better. Companies can now instantly communicate with clients, customers, and partners whether they’re just down the hall or halfway around the world.

If you’re still relying on your office phone as your primary method of business communication, it may be time for a 21st century upgrade. Here’s a look at five ways technology can make your business communication better:

  1. More speed – Before the days of video conferencing and email, business communications could take a long time. Setting up phone or in-person appointments was often difficult because of conflicting schedules and differing time zones. Technologies like instant messaging, smartphones, web conferencing, and instant document share has increased the speed with which businesses communicate. Now, communications can take place instantly almost anywhere.
  2. More mobility – Technology has also eliminated the need to be tied down to a specific office location. With mobile devices and wireless Internet, business can be conducted from almost anywhere you are. This tech has allowed many workers to telecommute to the office at least part time.
  3. More personal – Contrary to what many people think, technology has actually allowed businesses to communicate with their colleagues and clients on a more personal level. Where once the only way to have a face-to-face conversation was to spend a lot of time and money traveling to distant offices, technology has allowed these types of personal communications to take place instantly. Videoconferencing allows participants to see each other and watch for reactions and nonverbal expressions that are missing from other forms of communication. Because videoconferencing is easier and cheaper to set up (compared to business travel), face-to-face communication can happen more often.
  4. More workflow – When is the best time to send business documents? Right at the point of communication, when everyone can share and discuss ideas. In the past, sharing documents was one of the hardest and most time-consuming business communications activities—now, documents can be shared instantaneously with the click of a mouse.
  5. Less costly – All of these communications benefits translate into less cost overall. Without all the expenses of travel, long distance telephones, and wasted time and productivity, the cost of communications is significantly reduced.
These are only some of the ways that technology has improved business communications. If you aren’t taking advantage of them, then it may be time to look into how to change the way you do business.

How to Increase Torrent Downloading Speed/Speed Up Utorrent Download

Increasing torrent speed is effort taken by almost every Internet user who uses torrents for downloading files. Maximum downloads are  done through torrent clients. So can you Increase downloading speed of Torrent?  If yes than how to increase downloading speed of your torrent? keep reading........
According to Wiki the torrent protocol accounted for 43% to 70% of all Internet traffic  as of February 2009.

What are Torrent Peers and Seeds??

Torrent is a word derived from word Bit Torrent which is a peer-to-peer files sharing protocol which is also used as file extension. It’s distributing files over the Internet. This protocol is designed by Programmer Bram Cohen in April 2001 and released the July 2 2001.
Peer-A peer is refer to a particular node (A computer like you) which is currently sharing (either uploading or downloading) the data using torrent client. It’s specific for each torrent.
Seed-Seeds are referring to those peers which have 100% of file. So if you have zero (0) seeds than its waste of time to download that torrent.

How To Increase Torrent Download Speed?

Here are some tips which help you to increase your torrent speed. Some of them are tradition tricks and some are new but these are tricks which surely help you to increase your torrent speed.

1. Choosing Best torrent Client .i.e. Bit Torrent:

Choosing the best torrent client is the first point you should care about if you are thinking to get maximum torrent downloading speed. As per requirement increases there are many torrent clients available in market. So chose only trusted and best bit torrent client from the official site of bit torrent.

2. Always chose torrent with good trackers, seeds and peers:

Second point is choosing the right torrent. If you are using a week torrent with less tracker, seeds and peers than it’s hard to get a good downloading speed. Never download a torrent which has zero (0) seeds. Always download a torrent which have at least one seeds (its minimum) and with maximum peers. Next are trackers, which are also important. Check the properties of your torrent you can find list of trackers.
If you are unable to find the torrent with good seeds and peers than you can increase your seeds and peers of your week torrent by re announcing it refer my post on how to re announce a torrent file/How to Increase seeds and peers of torrent.
If your torrent has less or week trackers, than you can increase your trackers also.

3. Change the settings of your torrent client:

You can change some setting in your torrent client software (no matter what client it is) which will help you to increase the torrent downloading speed. Changing few simple setting like bandwidth, port is helpful in increase the torrent downloading speed. To know about these setting in detail please refer the post Increase torrent speed.

4. Download torrent with help of Downloading managers (IDM, DAP, Orbit etc)

Torrent client use the torrent protocol which is peer-to-peer files sharing protocol to download file. Even the P2P protocol is best among all for downloading file but some time downloading file using other protocol can help in gaining more downloading speed. You can use your downloading managers to download your torrent files.

5. Increase the number of Max Half Open TCP connections:

The Max Half Open TCP connections specify that how many connections a torrent client should attempt to establish simultaneously at any given time. Operating Systems like Windows XP-SP2and newer, limits this to a default of 10.As torrents need a large number of simultaneous connections you can increase your torrent downloading speed by changing this figure.
A patch has been available for a while from LvlLord which modifies the TCPIP.sys file in Windows to allow a higher number of TCP connections.
After running the patch, you have to change your torrent client settings also. In uTorrent  go to
Options ->Preferences ->Advanced – >net.max_halfopen.
Set any number from 50 to 100.Dont use more than that. Also keep checking TCPIP.sys for cross verifying the number of Max Half Open TCP connections.

How much we can Increase torrent Speed Actually??

Yeah it’s very important to understand that up to how much speed you can increase for downloading torrent. Many of you are may be getting a good downloading speed from torrent (which is equal to your bandwidth limit) still landed to this page because you want more speed. Than sorry you can’t get more downloading speed for torrent than your bandwidth.
If you have facing problem with your slow bandwidth speed than please read my article How to Increase your bandwidth/Internet connection speed.
So this way you can Increase the downloading speed of your torrent file.

What is Cloud Computing Technology-Basics

This is a Guest Post by Anusha Reddy,if you want to write guest post for us then contact us.
Cloud Computing is one of the terms which we listen a lot now a days. Here is a brief article on Cloud computing Technology.

What is Cloud Computing Technology?
Cloud computing refers to a technology wherein data and applications can be maintained and saved online through internet. The benefit is that users can use their personal accounts and applications on internet, that too without installing any software. That means whenever you want, through your browser, you can open and use your files saved on internet. The most common example of cloud computing is Gmail. There are so many users registered and one can send mails by opening their account.
How Cloud Computing Works?
In a cloud computing system, there's a significant workload shift. Local computers no longer have to do all the heavy lifting when it comes to running applications. The network of computers that make up the cloud handles them instead. Hardware and software demands on the user's side decrease. The only thing the user's computer needs to be able to run is the cloud computing systems interface software, which can be as simple as a Web browser, and the cloud's network takes care of the rest.

A simple example of cloud computing is Yahoo email, Gmail, or Hotmail etc. You don't need a software or a server to use them. All a consumer would need is just an Internet connection and you can start sending emails. The server and email management software is all on the cloud ( Internet) and is totally managed by the cloud service provider Yahoo , Google etc. The consumer gets to use the software alone and enjoy the benefits. The analogy is , 'If you need milk , would you buy a cow ?' All the users or consumers need is to get the benefits of using the software or hardware of the computer like sending emails etc. Just to get this benefit (milk) why should a consumer buy a (cow) software /hardware ?
Just to give an example it would mean, instead of installing the Microsoft Word, you can access your word applications via Google docs, available to us on the Internet. Thus this “cloud” manages all your applications in a similar manner.

Advantages of Cloud Computing:

1.Reduced Cost: It helps keep the cost down for both the users and website owners. Also for the users, they can access it from any computer and still have the file they need. For the owners, they do not need to reproduce the software and ship it out. They just rent the server space.

2.More Storage:  They can hold more storage than a personal computer can.  It takes away the need for the upgrading computer memory.

3.Automatically Updated : The server gets the updates and everyone who uses the service gets the updates without updating anything on their end.

4.Mobility: Like most networks it allows users to connect even without their own computers, meaning you can do your work from anywhere in the world as long as you have a internet connection and a computer access.

5.No Downloads: The users do not need to download anything, so that saves time and hard drive space for users. They can just log onto the network.

Disadvantages of Cloud  Computing:

1.Latency: The cloud can be many milliseconds away which are not suitable for real time applications like video conference, online gaming, chatting, instant messaging etc

2.Dependency: Among certain limitations of cloud computing is users’ dependency on the provider. That means internet users don’t have their data stored with them and doesn’t have control over their software.

3.Risk and Insecurity:  there is always insecurity regarding stored documents. Nothing can be recreated if their servers go out of service.

4.Migration Problems: In case the user has to switch to some other provider, there are migration issues. It’s not easy to transfer huge data from one provider to the other.

Cloud Computing Challenges:
Despite its growing influence, concerns regarding cloud computing still remain. Some common challenges are:
Data Protection: Data Security is a crucial element that warrants scrutiny. Enterprises fear losing data to competition and the data confidentiality of consumers. In many instances, the actual storage location is not disclosed, adding onto the security concerns. In the existing models, firewalls across data centers (owned by enterprises) protect this sensitive information. In the cloud model, Service providers are responsible for maintaining data security and enterprises would have to rely on them.
Data Recovery and Availability:
  • Appropriate clustering and Fail over
  • Data Replication
  • System monitoring (Transactions monitoring, logs monitoring and others)
  • Maintenance (Runtime Governance)
  • Disaster recovery
  • Capacity and performance management
If, any of the above mentioned services is under-served by a cloud provider, the damage & impact could be severe.

Examples of Cloud computing applications:
  • Major Service providers of cloud computing are Hotmail.com was launched in 1996, it is widely considered as the first cloud computing application. The data is stored at the vendor servers, and users could pay incrementally to increase disk space usage.
  • Google and  Microsoft  provide development platforms that can be accessed with "pay-per-use" billing model. All these services are examples of Cloud computing.
  • Amazon.com was one of the first vendors to provide storage space and computing resources following the cloud computing model.

Conclusion:-
Cloud computing is becoming popular now a days. Many organisations already taking advantage of cloud computing. The major draw back of Cloud Computing is security and privacy concern which is being simplified to greater extent as the Technology advances.Cloud Computing is a great milestone with the advancement of Latest Technology lets look forward to what heights this Technology reaches.
Share your opinion on Cloud Computing through your comments.

Comcast And Verizon Cable Vs Satellite Directv And The Dish War is still persisting

Competition is necessary to keep improvements coming in the business world and this is particularly true of the television industry, where rival broadcasters battle it out to win over a larger proportion of the viewership than their contemporaries. Whilst you will see major players wiped off the map occasionally, the current crop of Verizon and Comcast with their cable services and satellite TV companies like DirecTV and Dish Network are still embroiled in a war over customers that shows no sign of reaching a conclusion in the short term.

There are several weapons being used in the current skirmish and high definition television is one of the most important. DirecTV has made significant investments in this area. This will appeal to people who have splashed out on a HD-ready set, that they have yet to use to its full potential. Its original crop of 20 HD stations was decent, but after it announced that it would be increasing its high-def output to include 100 channels, it was clear that rivals would have to follow suit soon.

Comcast deals also include HD offerings and this cable company is facing off against its satellite rivals by spending almost six billion dollars on improving its network infrastructure. This will lead to more high-resolution broadcasts. HD content is necessarily more bandwidth-intensive than standard definition, so to avoid customers experiencing quality reduction and traffic issues, a great deal of cash needs to be spent.

The fellow cable provider, Verizon, is going even further in its efforts to win over more viewers, spending a reported $23 billion in the process. This is needed to extend the reach of its networks so that more households across the U.S are able to sign up should they wish to do so. Almost 50 million Americans can get Comcast deals and Verizon is hoping that it will be able to reach a similar level of availability. It is worth noting that only half of this number is actually signed up to a Comcast cable TV package, so just being accessible does not necessarily guarantee that consumers will sign a contract.

For the satellite providers, it is not as simple as sending out teams to lay new cabling across wider areas and update the existing infrastructure to handle the increased traffic necessitated by HD channels. DirecTV is launching a pair of new satellites into the atmosphere to orbit the Earth and beam high definition images to its millions of subscribers. This will also allow up to 97 percent of U.S households to access digital satellite transmissions, with 70 percent of this proportion also getting access to high definition programming from local broadcasters.

The set top technology is another battleground for the industry, ever since the introduction of digital recording of real time shows and on demand content became an important asset. Lawsuits filed against Dish TV by TiVo for allegedly copying its recording technology have indicated how aggressively the companies are willing to defend unique features that could gain them the upper hand when it comes to viewership.

As with any TV-related rivalry, the central concerns are improving levels of viewership to net more monthly subscriptions and also to increase the amount of advertising revenue that it is possible to gain. For the users, this also means that prices will be competitive and the technology constantly improving, as various firms court consumers.

Worth the Wait

Worth the wait: Be patient and use your HP coupon on that computer

You want a new computer, but the prices are just out of your reach. If you wait for the right time or find an HP coupon, you know your purchase will be that much sweeter. The problem is, your love for gadgets has turned into a love for instant gratification. You want the newest stuff now, no matter what it does to your pocketbook. If you can follow a few simple strategies, you’ll be paying less for the gadgets you want most.

Get computer deals

The biggest purchases are often the hardest ones to get a good deal on. That said, you’re probably going to be shelling out a decent amount of cash for a computer, so there’s a lot of room for discounts. The computer guys have it figured out and think you should wait for spring to get a good discount. The people who make the chips and such that go into the computers usually release their new products in January, so there’s an influx of new computers in spring time. More supply equals less cost for you, so keep an eye out during this time. Like we said before, you can also find coupons for most brands, so stay on the lookout for those as well. If you can double down and use a coupon during a good sale, you’ll save more money than you ever imagined possible.

Upgrade your gaming for less

If you’re a gamer, you know that most companies don’t follow a strict release schedule for their new consoles. When they do decide it’s time for an update, you’re going to know a bit in advance, however. Take Microsoft and Nintendo, two companies that are likely releasing new versions of their popular systems early next year. You probably won’t be able to score a huge deal on the newest and best stuff, but you can bet your last dollar (or a few hundred) that the older versions are going to go on deep discount right after the new releases. If you get good enough at the waiting game, you’ll score a perfectly playable system for less.

Watch it on the big screen

Quick, name some great things about February! You might have remembered Groundhog Day and some romantics might have said Valentine’s Day, but did you know it’s also the best time to start looking for deals on a new TV? In February, stores are starting to get new models in, and the holiday rush is dying down, so not as many people are shopping for big-ticket items. This works to your advantage because you can usually find or negotiate a super discount on an older (but still cutting edge) model, so they can free up some space for the newer stuff. You’ll also benefit from checking out this decision assistance tool to help you figure out if it’s the right time or not.

The more you plan for your gadget purchases, the better off you’ll be. And remember, waiting is always good!
