SOFTWARE GIANT Company Microsoft and giant technology provider Global Gateway Innovation Exchange launched Thursday an open-source management tool that developers can use to monitor multiple-platform projects.

“We are determined to continue promoting open collaboration because this is one way that we are contributing to the overall growth of the software industry and Filipino information technology developers,” Arnie Locsin, Microsoft’s platform strategy manager, told reporters during the launching of the NPanday, the new open source management tool.

He added: "Our interoperability strategy guides not only how our products and programs are made, but also how we work with fellow information technology organizations in making relevant information available to developers for them to build across systems.”

Mr. Locsin said the open source interoperability laboratory in the country is also a partnership with two government bodies -- the Commission on Information and Communications Technology and the National Computer Center.-
